Ingredients
400 grams mangoes
1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
1 pinch saffron strands
2 to 3 teaspoons raw sugar (optional)
water or milk as required- optional
Instructions
- Rinse 2 mangoes thoroughly in clean water. Drain all the water and dry them with a clean kitchen towel.
- Peel and chop the mangoes. Add the chopped mangoes to a blender. You can also add some sugar if the mangoes are slightly tangy or sour.
- Blend the mangoes into a smooth pulp. If the consistency is too thin then add some water or milk. Blend again. Make sure not to add too much of the liquids as it will make aamras recipe into a drink.
- Transfer mango pulp into a bowl. Add 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder and 12 to 15 saffron strands. Crush the strands of the saffron before adding it.
- Mix very well. Then pour it into a container and refrigerate it for 30 minutes to an hour to chill.
- Aamras is ready. Serve it with poori or roti.
